WABI-SABI is a Japanese way of life that embraces simplicity, nature and the quiet beauty found in imperfection. It invites us to slow down, appreciate the handmade and find meaning in the authentic. Pieces valued for their character, their story and the way they gently evolve with time.
HOUSE OF WABI-SABI was founded by myself, Ria. I’m a self taught designer-maker with 15 plus years of experience rooted in craft, curiosity and connection. My work is shaped by years of travel. Local artisans, and the quiet skills passed between poeple and places. Every piece begins with thoughtful fabric sourcing from small ethical mills, then is designed by hand and made in small runs or as one-off garments by myself at my studio in Leicetser.
Each fabric is selected for its integrety, character, and sustainability, forming the foundation of garments that are crafted slowly and thoughtfully.
Driven by a deep passion for creativity and a geniune, authentic enthusiasm for making, I approach each project with excitement, care, and love. My work reflects a commitment to thoughtful materials, intentional processes and the joy of bringing unique ideas to life.
Whether I’m developing new concepts or crafting bespoke items, I find joy when creating pieces that feel meaningful, that are beautifully made, and true to my values as a creative designer-maker.
